The hike from Gun beach to Fai Fai Beach is a Hidden Gem here in Guam. This interesting hike is only 10 minutes long and will land you on Fai Fai Beach, which is a secluded beach covered in sea glass. It also takes you through a rocky overhang, down a ladder, and offers great views!
Gun beach is located at the right end of Tumon bay near hotel Nikko. It’s best known for the Beach Bar which can also be found there. The parking area that was close to the beach has recently been blocked off by the owners however there’s a large parking area in the center and you can park along the sides as well. After parking walk down along the fence line, the beach bar will be on the right and the fence on the left. This is the Gun Beach area.
To take the hike over to the Fai Fai Beach area you need to walk towards the rocks which are on the right if you’re facing the beach, and you’ll see an old gun turret near the beginning of some stairs. The walk starts at the stairs and its a great 10 minute walk over to the Fai Fai Beach area. It includes going up some stairs down a ladder there a rocky cave area and has some great views.
Those are some pics from the path.
View from the first part of the walk.
After the ladder you’ll reach the rock area where you follow the path through/around the rock.
If the tide is low you can also walk in the water to the right around the large walk to get to the beach area as well if you plan to do that make sure you have water shoes. Where the lady is in the water is where you can walk around during low tide. Although I think the walk on the path is much more scenic and fun.
I even took a live video of the walk and posted on my Facebook page you can find it HERE
After the walk you’ll find yourself on Fai Fai beach!
As you’re walking down the beach you’ll notice there are some signs to the left of saying private property. That property belongs to a private resort so don’t use the chairs, swings, or any of the things that they have out there for their guests. The beaches here in Guam are public property so the beach is self is not private property but the area to the right is.
You’ll notice if you look further down towards Tanguisson beach you have a great view of Two Lovers Point which makes this a fun area for taking selfie’s or photos. If you have the Best Treks on Guam book you’ll also find it there’s a hike that goes from Fai Fai beach all the way down to Tanguisson beach.
There is also a cave on the beach but we did not explore it.
While on the beach we noticed that there was tons of sea glass everywhere! And there were only a few people on the beach when we went and most were using the resort area. There were just a few of us straggler exploring on our own, so it had a real secluded feel to it.
This walk is definitely worth checking out while you’re here in Guam and I think it’s one of the best kept secret’s here!
