The Visitor’s Center in downtown Montgomery, AL is located in Union Station, the old train station. It is very close to the Riverwalk entrance.
This was our first time to go check it out. In addition to having historic information about the train station and local areas there were also brochures for what to see and do, as well as someone to talk to about information if needed. There is even a cute little store to shop in as well.

Then if your looking for something else to do you can go check out the First White House of the Confederacy.
It’s free admission but you do have to pay for parking, its super cheap, 6 cents for 5 minutes and is right in front of the house. We didn’t go in on this visit although we did when my Dad visited last year.
There was lots of neat historic stuff to look at, downstairs is mainly rooms and a small information/shop and upstairs is small collectable items displayed with information.
A great way to check out some local Montgomery area attractions, and the only cost is parking, which is going to run you 50 cents to $1. I’m glad we were able to check these out before we leave. Check back as I’ll be posting about our lunch at Chris’ Hot Dogs soon!

This is really neat. You know I lived in Montgomery for a year when I was little, but I do not really remember much. So it was really great to read up on the area. x
