Residence du Parc is located near Disney Paris. I had read many recommendations to stay outside of Paris in the Disney area and take the train in, which we did because all the decent priced hotels & apartments were booked by the time I went to make reservations. It was an interesting experience but not sure it’s one I’d ‘recommend’ to others unless they were in a situation like ours.
Residence du Parc is posted as a 3 star hotel, but I’d say it’s more like a 2 star. It reminds me of Ryan Air and the whole ‘getting what you pay for and nothing more’ concept. There were both positives and negatives to our stay here. Sorry I did not take a pic of the outside of the hotel or inside besides our room, when we arrived it was then we realized how sick Mr. B was getting so that took priority. You can see a photo on their website above.
The hotel itself was a bit run down. The hallway carpets had some major stains and it needed a good painting. However the room was decent and clean.
It was large as well, which is hard to find in Europe. It had 2 bedrooms (1 with a Queen bed & 1 with a Twin bed) plus a living room (double sized sofa bed) and a kitchenette with a sink, 2 burners, mini fridge & microwave. The fridge had a super tiny freezer but it worked great for freezing a wet washcloth for Mr. B. The bathroom also had a full tub & shower. So as far as size goes it was great for our family of 5.
There was no maid service, which some people may not like but I prefer not to worry about people coming into our room and messing with our stuff while we are gone, so that didn’t bother me. Also we were only staying 3 nights as well. If we needed anything such as more towels, etc. Mr. B just went down to the front desk and got them for us.
The other downfall was that the hotel did not offer a shuttle service to Disney/Train station despite the website saying that it did even though it was a paid service. The upside was that the city bus stop was across the street and we were able to take that to the train station at Disney. It was a good 18 minute ride each way and cost us €10 each way for our family of 5. So if you have to stay in the Disney area try to find a hotel that offers free shuttle service, this will save on cost and it will most likely mean you are a bit closer to Disney/train station.
Some of the best perks were free parking, which is hard to find in Europe, as well as free wi-fi for all of our devices (6 total). This was a huge perk for me as I had to do some last minute research and changing things around when we realized how sick Mr. B was. It also helped me to figure out what we needed to do to get him meds and ‘if’ I had to take him to the Dr. Luckily no Dr was needed until we got back home. Also the wi-fi was good, another rare find in Europe and greatly appreciated by us Americans 😉
The breakfast at the hotel was a joke! It was €7 EACH and it only had bread, croissants, cornflakes, OJ…just a few small items. It was super crowded and it was a total rip off, we learned the hard way the first day and did not eat there the following days. There is a small bakery just out side to the right (near the parking lot) and we instead went there and got breakfast the following 2 days. Much cheaper and tasted much better!
The hotel did have an outdoor pool but it was still too cold to use while we were there in mid-April.
The other down side of staying outside Paris near Disney is the time and cost of getting into Paris each day. If you read my Getting to and Around Paris post you’d know that it cost us €80 EACH day to get our family of 5 from the Disney train station to Paris and back. It was also a good 1.5 hour trip IF things went smoothly, longer if they did not.
Overall the hotel stay was OK, I’d go back if I had to (but would NOT get breakfast) but would try to stay somewhere else first. It did serve it’s purpose for what I needed, a large hotel room for 5 people when I booked a month out. If we ever go back I’ll book further out and book an apartment in Paris.
Have you been to Paris? Did you stay inside or outside the city?

I’d rather stay on Disney property……because of the magic hours……But I totally understand budget and all that stuff.
I’m sorry about the hotel…………

We stayed in Paris as it was during the Christmas Market season and we chose to enjoy one (Paris) rather than spend too much time traveling between hotel and both (Paris and Disney) based on friends who live in Paris and those who are frequent Euro Disney visitors. If you could do Disney again, would you consider renting a holiday apartment near the park to save costs?

We didn’t actually go to Disney. If we do go I don’t mind staying at a hotel out there, I just don’t want to travel back & forth to Paris from there 😉
