Schinderhannes found at Hotel Landgasthaus in Sohren, Germany is a great lunch treat after shopping at Kaefer’s. They offer some yummy daily lunch specials and we found them to be quite delicious! It’s literally a minute drive down the street from Kaefer’s.
The best thing is that for lunch they offer a 3 course meal for €9,80! It’s a different meal choice each day but the one we had was delicious! Of course I took pictures to share with y’all 🙂 (Also note that does not include a drink, drinks are additional). If you don’t want the 3 course special there is also other items to chose from, some sample menu item are on their website above.
When we walked in we were able to chose our own seating, the waitress came by shortly after with the menus & told us about the special. It sounded good so we both decided to try it.
It started off with spinach soup, and I’m not lying when I say Mr. B & I would’ve NEVER order this, but this soup was amazing! Yes, that was whipped cream on the top not sure why they do that here in Germany but I found it on my pumpkin soup at a festival too. Regardless the soup has forever changed my mind about not eating spinach soup! I’d eat that every day if I could.
The main course was pork cutlets with fried potatoes, and veggies with cheese, um yes please! All of this was so amazing and I’m not normally a fan of German food but I loved every bite of it! How can you go wrong with fried potatoes with bacon?!
The meal was finished off with this tasty little dessert. It was some sort of cold custard that was over some sort of liquor soaked bread. The bread was a shock to the tongue but the custard was amazing.
The staff was super friendly as well and we loved the ambiance of the place. I can’t wait to go back for some more shopping & yummy food! Hopefully we’ll get a different special to try next time! Although I wouldn’t mind eating those dishes again.
