Walk a Nordic Trail, or if your adventurous try a Barefoot park!
Take a swim at a pool, many have slides (Please note the above pic is in Luxembourg but there are MANY pools in Germany). or activities for the kids.
Take a trip to an animal park and visit with the animals, these are popular here in Germany.
Visit a local grocery store and try something new, we love the Bourbon vanilla ice cream for β¬1,99 at REWE.
Eat Eis (ice cream) they even have spaghetti Eis, which looks like spaghetti.
Visit an amusement park such as Phantasialand, but there are many to choose from.
Visit a festival and get in on the fun, locals festivals include the Wittlich Pigfest and a Medieval Festival at Manderschied.
Stop by a cathedral and check out the amazing architecture!
Take a boat cruise on the Mosel or Rhine rivers. Photo courtesy of a friend π

We spent two weeks in Germany while my husband had a small surgery in the middle of his Afghan deployment, and we had SO much fun! This post makes me want to go back tomorrow. Our favorite adventure was exploring a Rhine Valley town that had cable cars take you on a scenic ride over the vineyard to an overlook winery. It was incredible! – Erica @ whimsicalseptember.com
