Bea wanted to have a Vintage Travel themed party for her 11th birthday, luckily that went right along with the decor of our home so I was able to put one together for her.
I designed Travel invites, I did them on a white background so that they could be printed on any color of paper, we printed them on tan card stock to give them a map like style.
I painted and distressed some shutters that I had to get ready for the upcoming Craft Fair. I used this as the backdrop for her set up. I printed & cut out a Happy Birthday banner with my Silhouette Cameo and hung it with twine.
I made some tissue paper pompoms to hang from the ceiling, they were super easy to make, hanging from our cement ceilings was a bit harder but nothing a little scotch tape couldn’t fix.
I grabbed some of my decor from around the house and stacked and arranged it on the table. I was excited to be able to use the map stool that I recently finished for the Craft Fair as well. Finding candy to match the decor was challenging because of how limited the selection is at the BX & Commissary, and really even off base. Luckily I was able to find some to colored M&M’s to use as well as York pieces.
I was able to use some vintage luggage for the center piece and for the cake.
My grandpa’s vintage camera was a great addition to the set up as well as some tack balls I had made.
I ordered these super cute tiny bottles with cords from Amazon (because local resources in Germany are super limited!) and tore little pieces of paper so the girls could write notes to put in the bottles to take home. Bea & one of her friends after the party tied theirs to balloons and set them free…I wonder where they ended up?
I made some paper map roses and put them in a white glass milk vase with some faux white roses.
I ordered a custom cake from a friend and Bea wanted it to be blue & green roses and pink inside to go with the theme. I love how it turned out and the girls were impressed.
I made goodie cups with Europe on it and a heart over Germany.
Trying to put together ‘goodie bags’ is SO hard here! We don’t have Walmart, Target, etc to run out to quickly get some cute stuff. I decided to go with tumblers filled with some goodies. I put vinyl on the tumblers and then we put inside them: gum, socks, hair bands, stickers, and a cute dog eraser. Bea REALLY wanted to do a Scavenger Hunt so we made one up and the girls had to find all the clues, at the end they found a bag holding their tumbler of goodies. It was fun watching them run through the house looking for clues.
I also go out the glass punch bowl & cups for the girls to use, we poured blue Hawaiian punch in it. The girls had so much fun drinking from the cups.
I really loved this theme and had fun setting it up and getting ready for the party. Bea & her friends had a great time as well.

Thanks girl! I was my first ‘solo’ party, luckily I’ve been helping a friend for years so that really helped 😉
