In December we went to check out the East Action Center in Burg Reuland, Belgium. They have go-karting, miniature golf, bowling, 7Di cinema, laser tag & more! It’s a great place for indoor fun for cold or rainy weather. It’s only a 40 min drive from Spangdahlem.
When driving there keep an eye on your GPS, ours tried to send us out into the middle of some farm land. If you take the 1st St. Vith exit you’ll be right on track so just stay on the Autobahn until you see that. Parking is free and it’s a large lot.
If you want to do the go-karting or laser tag you need to call in advance for reservations. We called at 1 pm when the opened the day we went and were able to get reservations for 4:30 pm for go-karting. They said just to show up for the laser tag but unless you have 4 or more people you have to wait to try to join another group, and there were none while we were there for the guys to join.
We got there at 4 pm and we left around 6:20 pm. So plan on spending at least a few hours there, more if desired. This place was pretty busy, it was a Saturday and by 5:30 pm it was really busy, and there were several birthday parties going on as well.
For the go-karting your required to have a hood, if you didn’t bring one you’ll have to purchase one for €2. You get to keep it so just make sure you bring it back the next time you come so you don’t have to buy one again. It as €38 per person and that was for 10 mins of qualifying and 25 mins of racing. The guys said that was more than enough time so you could easily do the shorter one. Also the indoor go-kart area is not heated so make sure you have a jacket, warm socks, and maybe even some gloves. The guys hands were so cold they were numb after they were done! It’s also a bigger course than the one in Wittlich. It was €114 for the 3 guys to go-kart.
Bea & I did the 3D Blacklight mini golf while the guys were go-karting. It was €10 for ages 12 & up and €8 for under 12. So it was €18 for Bea & I to mini golf. Truthfully it was probably not worth the €18 other than it gave Bea & I something to do while the guys were go-karting. It’s a small 9 holes that is quickly finished. Wearing the 3D glasses is kinda disorientating so we took them off. While the decor was neat it wasn’t one of the best mini golf courses we’ve played.
The laser tag is €20 per person but you need at least a group of 4 or to wait and join another group. There was a group scheduled for 6 pm that the guys were going try to join with but they didn’t show up so they didn’t get to play.
They also have bowling lanes as well, although I’m not so sure how popular bowling is in Germany and there was no one bowling while we were there. It’s also in black light theme.
There is a kids area for kids ages 4 and up and the band is €5 for them to play while you are there.
There is also a free baby corner area for smaller kids near the bowling lanes.
They also have air hockey, pool, video games, etc. The games were €1-2 each. We thought the best game was the 4 person air hockey, we had lots of fun playing and probably got a bit loud with our cheering 😉
They also serve food & drinks and if your in the comfortable seating area wait staff will walk through and ask if you’d like to order something. We did not eat here. The seating is also great to watch those in your party who may be go-karting.
Overall we had a great time and were glad that we waited to go when Boo was here from his college break. We though the go-karting & mini golf was a bit pricy, if we go again we’ll check out some of the other stuff.
