Guam is calling …We Must Go….I’m excited to announce that we will be moving to GUAM this summer!! Yes, it is a short notice move and we do have a dog so it’s a bit of a hot mess BUT we are thrilled!! My brain is already flooded with the tons of blog posts that will be coming up, and Yes I do know that Guam is small but it’s mighty with things to do and locations to travel to from it!
With that being said I do still have quite a few Europe posts to get done as well, including cruise info! I hope to get them finished and scheduled so you’ll still have content posting while we’re in the moving process. If there is a slow time for some reason know I’m crazy busy but will get it up soon!
Here are some of the questions we’ve been asked since we found out…
Are you excited? – Yes, we are thrilled! And for a few reasons. Guam was #2 on our list right behind Ramstein because those were the only 2 overseas choices we had, then we listed 4 Stateside, so we are excited we are staying overseas! Mr. B is thrilled because he’s been really wanting a beach assignment and this sure is one! We’re also excited because of the Space A opportunities, we lived in Japan for 3 years and are looking forward to visiting it again because we love it so!
When are you leaving? – That has changed a few times, they wanted us to leave in less than 40 days from when we found out but we’ve pushed it back some, we’ll still be leaving in less than 90 days though, although I won’t be more specific than that for right now 😉
Running into any obstacles? – PCSing with a pet to Guam is hard, a short notice PCS with a pet even harder! We’re working hard to try and get all the stuff done to reduce his quarantine time as much as possible. It makes me sad to know we have to surrender him at the airport after stressing him out with all the traveling so I’m just praying all goes well and we get results fast!
Are you going to blog there? – Yes, and I’m really excited about that! I’ve already noticed how lacking online information and resources are, especially for PCSing and traveling so I’ll be taking notes along our journey for sure!
Are you going to get Island fever and go stir crazy? – I always laugh at this one! Yes, I realize Guam is TINY but I also believe that if you don’t stay on base and go off and explore you can keep busy! Plus there are many travel options there to the Oceania area as well as Asia that are not available living in Europe or the US so I’m excited to explore those!
That’s going to be a long flight huh? – you can say that for sure! But I have no doubts it’ll be worth it, we’ll just be more than happy when we finally touch down in Guam. I think Boo may visit us less there as well since it’ll be around 23 hours of travel for him…yikes! But it’s a once in a lifetime opportunity and we plan to make the most of it.
I’d love to hear any input about how amazing Guam is, the must see spots, and the local food we just gotta try!
