We arrived at the New Sanno yesterday after our 1 hour flight to Haneda. We took the ‘limo’ service from Camp Zama, which was a van with a hired driver. They had told us it would be a 2 hour drive from Haneda to New Sanno with traffic and boy were we surprised when 20 minutes after getting in the van we arrived at the New Sanno! That was MUCH easier and faster than trying to take the train and taxi route that would’ve taken at least an hour. So if your planning on staying a night in Tokyo from Haneda (there is no shuttle to New Sanno) I would highly recommend using this service. We’ve done the train thing before with all 5 of us and 2 suitcases I can’t imagine it with 6 suitcases and 5 backpacks! We’ll be taking the Shuttle from New Sanno to Narita in the morning. It’s supposed to be a 2 hour ride so we’ll see how long it really takes!
Please keep Damon in your prayers as he’s fighting off a cold/possible strep and has ear pain after the flight today. He is taking Antibiotics so I’m hoping they’ll help out, we’re already seeing improvement with the sore throat.
We just got back from taking the kids swimming (part 1 in the plan to wear them out for sleeping on the plane tomorrow night, part 2 will be swimming in the AM before we leave) and are now eating our bedtime snack of icecream, starting the vaction out right 🙂
Truthfully it’s really still surreal that we’ve left Misawa, other than the sad good-byes at the airport it still hasn’t sunk it. I guess it will tomorrow when we get the culture shock of stepping foot back in the US.
