The PHR Club Guam is a great deal but many people are confused about what it is and what you get, so here is What You Need to Know! Save money and make the most out of your time on Guam! It includes hotel stays, pool passes, free drinks, cake, food & beverage discounts, spa discounts & more! It’s all broken down in the post for you! We purchased the PHR deal in June 2017 and have a year to use all the ‘deals’ so I’ll explain what is included and the cost.
There are 3 types of PHR Club for Guam. They are: Social Member, Room Member, and Premier Member. Most people I’ve talked to, including us, have chose the Room Member package so I’ll start with that one.
Room Member Package
The Room Member package is $350 and is purchased in One person’s name, for instance for us, I got it in my name. When you redeem the vouchers the person who’s name it is in needs to be there. If you chose to renew it the following year it’s only $300! So what do you get for the $350? You can see the chart here as well.
Hotels Stays
3 Hotel stays at any of the participating hotels (Hyatt, Hilton, PIC, Nikko, & Sheraton) A great way to take a Staycation, have a hotel for functions like Christmas Parties, Balls, etc.
We used one of ours for our Christmas party. It ended up being fantastic as we had several folks use it to change before the party and we didn’t have to worry about using the shuttle to get back to Andersen. We stayed at Hotel Nikko, which was Ok in general. The room was large and the balcony view was fantastic, see pic above! It did take awhile to get the room as cool as we like it, and the rooms are a bit older. We still have 2 stays left to use and we’ll try 2 more different hotels.
Pool Passes
You get 20 pool passes, 4 for each of the 5 hotel pools. It requires 1 pass per person so if your a family of 4 you can visit each pool once. If your a family of 2 you could visit each pool twice. The person who’s name the PHR card is in has to be there but who you bring to use the rest of the passes with you is up to you. You could take 3 friends, 3 family members, etc. You just check in at the reception desk and they will give you the pool cards to use at the pool area.
So far we’ve tried the pool at the Sheraton, it has the only infinity pool on island. We went on a Saturday and it wasn’t crowded at all. There is the infinity pool, jacuzzi, and pool with slide and cave area. There was also reserved parking spots for PHR members as well. The pool bar did not let us use the 20% discount on food or drinks, which I think may have been an error as it’s listed on the sheet. I need to verify if we go back. The beach/ocean access is rocky and not sandy, bring water shoes!
And we recently visited the Hilton Resort and it was nice as well, we went on a Tuesday and it wasn’t crowded at all. There are several pools of varying depths as well as a small infinity pool, but look at that view! There is beach/ocean access but it’s more like a ladder going into the water and not really sand. You can snorkel here so bring your gear if want to try it out. Also water shoes! There are signs posted about sharp coral and wearing shoes. We also enjoyed the food from the Tree Bar. You get to use the 20% discount on the food & drinks and they serve you poolside! The flatbread pizza was yummy and huge! There is a slide and you go pretty fast if you lay down.
The PIC passes include the waterpark but does not include the lunch. You can use your PHR discount if you want to purchase food.
Drinks
You also receive 12 coupon that can be redeemed for a bottle of wine, 3 beers, or 3 sodas. You do have to purchase at least 2 entrees to use it but it can be used at lunch or dinner. So far we’ve used it for soda at Hokkido’s at the PIC. That along with the PHR discount helps make eating out cheaper for a family here.
Cake
You get one free celebration cake. You do need to inform the hotel 48 hours in advance for the cake. We haven’t used it yet.
Food & Beverage Discounts
You get a 20% discount at the restaurants at the hotels. So far we’ve used this at Hokkido’s ($45 for our family of 5 to eat here with the free sodas), Hotel Nikko pool bar, Hyatt Breeze’s (pool bar), & Tree Bar at the Hilton. For the Hyatt while you can’t use it for the S’mores as they don’t do discounts on that you can use it for any drinks or food you purchase there while doing the S’mores.
Yoga Discounts
$5 off Yoga sessions for the PHR member only. Good only at the Hilton & Sheraton.
Spa Discounts
You get 20% to 30% off spa services depending on location. There are four spa choices:
Angsana Spa (Sheraton) – 30% off al carte spa services, 20% off packages
Island Sirena (Hyatt) – 20% off Spa Suite or room treatment
Ayualam (Hilton & Nikko) – 30% off massage, 10% off retail items.
$10 off the Local Rate
This is for hotel stays. Must have advance reservations & can’t be combined with other special offers.
NOTE – Do NOT lose your vouchers as they are NOT replaceable! Make sure you keep them in a safe spot and use them before they expire the following year. Also you MUST have the PHR card and your ID in order to redeem any vouchers, check into hotel rooms, or use the discounts.
Premier Package
The Premier package is also $350, it is identical to the Room package with ONE exception. With this package you only get 2 hotel room stays and in place of the 3rd room stay you get 4 rounds of golf.
Social Membership
The social membership is $150 but only includes: Food & Beverage discounts, Yoga Discounts, Spa Discounts, and $10 of Local Rate.
As you can see this really is a great deal and you get a lot for your money with the PHR club. The hotel rates are high here so just the 3 hotel stays alone is worth it! Also if you use your passes/hotel stays quickly you can also purchase a second pass in your Spouse’s name. Just remember they have to be there to redeem the vouchers/discounts.
Renewal
If you renew within 30 days of the expiration date you get a $50 discount, making the Room & Premier package only $300 the following year.
How to Purchase
Purchasing the PHR pass is super easy, you just purchase it online and then you’ll pick up the card & vouchers from the office when they are ready. Expect 1-2 weeks for processing, but you may be able to get them sooner. I went in a few days after I purchased and they were able to get them ready for me while I waited.
If I purchase this and my husband does as well, does that mean we can get 4 hotel stays out of th premier package?
Yes, each person will get 2 hotel stays.
Hi. Does Hotel Stay mean the room you choose is free? Do I need to book in advance for the hotel stay ?
Yes, you get a free room. Some of the hotels offer you an upgrade for an additional fee. Like at the Hyatt we were able to upgrade to a larger room with a balcony view for $20. Yes, you have to book the hotel stay in advance.
