After our horrible night’s stay here, at 3 am we found SpringHills Suites by Marriott online and thankfully they had a vacancy for the next night (actually that night since it was 3 am…) but since it was so last minute we also had to paid last minute prices, $139 for the night. This was the going rate for hotels in the area as well, but higher than what we are used to paying.
Apparently they have a great military rate but it has to be booked months out in order to get it, I know at 2 weeks out they didn’t have any available. So if your lucky enough to score the military rate do not hesitate to stay here! We had a great experience!
It’s located right off the main road in Pigeon Forge and is close to all the main attractions. There was tons of parking so that was not an issue at all. They also have an indoor & outdoor pool, the outdoor pool has a small slide as well as a good sized Jacuzzi tub. Towels are available on a rack by the indoor pool.
We arrived and the room as clean and really spacious. It was 2 Queen beds and a pull out full sized sofa bed. The beds were comfortable and well all sleep well, especially since the air conditioning worked great and we were able to keep the room cool!
Wi-fi was super easy to use and amazingly fast! We didn’t have any issue using wi-fi with any of our devices (iPhones, iPads, etc).
There was also a small fridge which was great to keep some sodas as well as some leftovers.
Bathroom was clean and large!
It had a huge walk-in closet as well. While we didn’t use it as a closet it was great as a changing room when the bathroom was occupied, it had a light inside as well.
The staff was super friendly and helpful. Apparently on the way up to the room when we first arrived my watch, a fairly expensive one that I wear everyday, had fell off my wrist. I searched the room up & down and couldn’t find it! I sent Mr. B out to the car and the boys down to search the lobby. Boo located the Lost & Found and they had it and were just writing up a report, Bub identified it as mine and they were able to bring it back! I’m so thankful that someone found it and turned it in!
They also had a good free continental breakfast, I was impressed, Mr. B said it was Ok for free. We got down to the lobby at 9 am (later than normal for us) and it was pretty busy and packed. We found out afterwards there was additional seating down the main hall in a conference room, it had large tables that seated 6 to 8 people. They offered waffles (that you could make), potatoes with sausage, eggs, fruit, creal, yogurt, oatmeal, juice & milk.
We had a great stay at SpringHills Suites and would stay there again, although I’d plan far enough out so that I could take advantage of the military rate. The hotel was clean, well maintained, staff friendly & helpful, and a good free breakfast is always a perk for us.
