Back in March I bought this vintage brochure holder at the NAF sale. I had no idea what I was going to do with it but I knew for $2 bucks I wanted it and would figure something out!
I took the clear part off, gave it a good cleaning, glued a few loose pieces back into place. I used Valspar Tropical Oasis spray paint, that I already had, to paint it and then a clear coat to seal it.
I really love how it turned out! As you can see it’s a good size! It’s 3 ft 4 inches tall by 2 feet 2.5 inches wide. It is kinda heavy so right now we just have it leaning against the wall, but after the move I think I’ll have Mr. B hang it up on a wall for me.
I’ve decided I’m going to use it for a similar purpose to it’s original purpose. I’m using it as a Travel Board for us! I’m going to use it to display brochures of our travels. Our places up next, bucket lists, and local areas that we can take family/friends when they visit us in Germany. If I don’t have a brochure for an area, I’ll just print a picture I took and put it in the that spot.
Right now I have a few AL ones in just for display until we get to Germany. After we get there I’m going to use my Silhouette and put vinyl lettering across the plexiglass. I don’t want to do it before the PCS and have to re-do after we get there, so I’ll just wait. I’m not sure the exact wording I’ll use yet, probably something along the lines of ‘Up Next’ on the top one, ‘Local Attractions’, and ‘Bucket List’ or something along those lines.
I’m sure excited how this $2 deal has turned out and I’m really looking forward to filling it up with European travel destinations!
