We are moving in!!
We have been in Germany for 3 months, and we are FINALLY moving into our house here in Germany and get our Household goods delivered! I’m looking forward to getting our ‘stuff’ and sleeping on our beds again! I can finally see the light at the end of the tunnel! Still feel like I need to pinch myself every so often to see if we really are moving into a house…LOL!
As you are reading this we are probably unpacking and wondering why we have so much stuff, and WHERE we are going to put it all! I have a feeling our German house is going to require some creative Pinterest organizing! Thankfully one the best things about waiting to move into a house 3 months after we arrived is that I’ve met some amazing friends along the way and I know I have tons of support and creative brains to help get me situated, that is almost worth the wait in itself 😉
Last week we were out of town, we went to Wiesbaden for the European Basketball tournaments. It was fun and we had a great time watching our boys team play in 4 games. We had a hard loss for our last game losing in overtime by 3 points but the boys all played with a lot of heart. I’m so glad we were able to go and watch because they were the last games Boo will play since he is a Senior this year. It’s starting to feel more and more real that he’ll be leaving us for college this summer, and I’m not so sure we’re ready. Boo played great and we’re so proud of him! It’s hard watching the last game of someone you’ve been watching play basketball since he was 5 years old. Football was much easier to be done with since it’s much more accident prone!
We also did some sightseeing on Friday as well, so I’ll be posting about Mainz, Burg Frankenstien, and Darmstadt in the near future. I’ll also be posting about staying in an Apartment vs. Hotel here in Europe. We have heard it is the best way to travel & stay here in Europe so we wanted to try it out!
And last but certainly NOT least I gave myself a treat in Wiesbaden and made a stop at the Annie Sloan store to get some paint, wax, and brushes, I’m soooo excited!! I can’t wait to get our stuff unloaded so I can start working on my long to-do list of projects!
So my friends, now you know what we’ve been up to and that we’re in the process of having to start over and establish new routines and schedules. Some because of moving and some because we no longer have basketball practices every night and weekend games, I’m gonna miss those!
YAY! So glad you’re finally moving in 🙂 Can’t wait to see how you’ll make that house a home!
Thanks girl! Working hard to get everything unpacked and ‘homelike’ 🙂 My heart is happy as we’re getting closer each day!
Holy Crap, you had to wait 3 months to get a places? Luckily we only had to wait two weeks. I had no idea they had an Annie Sloan store in Wiesbaden. I had to drive over an hour away to a small town to buy some AS paint from a private dealer for mine. And omg is this stuff expensive. Especially in euro. I ended up paying over $100 for like one can of paint and two little ones and two waxes!
Yes, it’s been quite the adventure ;p
The Annie Sloan store in Wiesbaden is in the bottom of a house right now as they are working on opening the storefront downtown in April. I agree it is a bit spendy but I have heard it’s worth it…I’ll find out soon when I can work on my projects, first to get the house in order, LOL!
The most expensive part of mine was the brushes but they’ll last forever from what my friend says so it’s a good investment.
I am not looking forward to living out of a hotel either for a bit when we finally PCS! Blargh! I’m glad you are finally all moved in.
I feel ya! In the last 3.5 months we’ve lived in 4 different places!! TLF in AL for 2.5 weeks, TLF in Spangdahlem for 10 days, the Wiedenhof, & finally our home, whew!!
