Frankfurt Hahn Airport is a commonly used airport of those of us living in this area, especially those who are taking advantage of some of the great RyanAir prices! February is busier month here in Germany because of Fasching! February Things To Do Around Spangdahlem has some interesting things to go see. Last month we were busy traveling to Rome & Barcelona so we did not hit any of the January events. Again these are generally no more than 3 hours away, although I may throw in one or two further away ones if I think that they are something to consider. Also note while these were normally called Month Name Festivals Around Spangdahlem I’ve decided to change it to Things To Do because not every month has ‘festivals’ per say but still has somethings to do.
There are Things To Do for everyone! Some include Theater show featuring horse, Chocolate exhibitions, Fasching parades, Dinner in the Dark & more! There has got to be one that you will find interesting and want to check out!
I’ve also included a printable file at the bottom so that you can print it out and easily see what is going on. Some of the events are this weekend so if you don’t get to them this year you can always add them to your list for next year. I’ll also be blogging about the ones that we get to visit so check back and see if they are worth taking a trip to.

In December we went to check out the East Action Center in Burg Reuland, Belgium. They have go-karting, miniature golf, bowling, 7Di cinema, laser tag & more! It’s a great place for indoor fun for cold or rainy weather. It’s only a 40 min drive from Spangdahlem.

During our trip to Bastogne, Belgium for the 70th Anniversary reenactment of the Battle of the Bulge we decided to check out the 101st Airborne Museum. It was a neat stop filled with tons of history, great for you history buffs and still entertaining enough for only those mildly interested in history.

The Battle of the Bulge re-enactment weekend in Bastogne, Belgium has quite a few things going on, this year they celebrated the 70th anniversary. This weekend happens once a year in December you can check the website for the dates (use Google Chrome). The Himmerod Abbey is an active monastery that is located near Spangdahlem AB in Himmerod, Germany. It’s a nice little day trip, but I’d say more suited to the warmer months. I’ve heard the restaurant & cafe there are good but we haven’t tried them yet.
