Omaha Beach in Saint-Laurent-sur-Mer, France
After checking out the WWII Normandy American Cemetery & Memorial it’s an easy drive to Omaha Beach in Saint-Laurent-sur-Mer, France. Here you can see a ‘Czech hedgehog,’ Les Braves sculpture, and stroll along the beach were so many gave their lives in the battle on D-Day. It’s only an 8 minute drive from the cemetery & memorial.

Longues-sur-Mer Gun Battery – France
After visiting Arromanches for the start of our D-Day Beach tour we then headed to Longues-sur-Mer Gun Battery, which is on the way to the WWII Normandy American Cemetery & Memorial. Arromanches, France – Port Winston & Gold Beach
If your heading to the Normandy area for the D-Day history then I’d recommend starting in Arromanches, France. I’d recommend using Rick Steve’s Snapshot Normandy book as it’s a great guide for traveling along the beaches and hitting all the great areas. Honfleur, France – Fantastic Harbour City
Honfleur, France is a fantastic harbour city to stop and check out if your in the Normandy region of France. While we stopped at Etrétat to see the white cliffs on the drive down, we stopped at Honfleur on the drive back home. It’s worth spending an hour or so to check out this neat harbour city and it’s beautiful port, make sure you get to the overlook point for the best views!

Etrétat, France – Amazing White Chalk Cliffs
If your headed to the Normandy region in France don’t miss stopping off in Etrétat, France to check out the amazing white cliffs! Plus you get to check out the shoreline as well! It has a neat walkplatz area with some half timbered buildings, shops, and restaurants. There is also a church you can visit atop one of the cliffs as well.

Residence du Parc – Near Paris Hotel
Residence du Parc is located near Disney Paris. I had read many recommendations to stay outside of Paris in the Disney area and take the train in, which we did because all the decent priced hotels & apartments were booked by the time I went to make reservations. It was an interesting experience but not sure it’s one I’d ‘recommend’ to others unless they were in a situation like ours.

Versailles, France
The 3rd day of our trip Paris we spent out at Versailles France. We drove there from our hotel near the Disney Paris area and spent a few hours there before driving home (back to the Spangdahelm area). We visited Chateau de Versailles, The Trianon Palaces, and Domaine de Marie-Antoinette. We were there for just under 4 hours, it it’s somewhere you could easily spend the whole day if you wanted.
