We were so excited to check out our first fall festival in Germany! We went to Hitscherhof Pumpkin Festival in Maßweiler, Germany. Taking your child to college from overseas can be be an intimidating and overwhelming process. While we love living overseas I can’t say that we loved the though of having to take our 17 year old back to the States and drop him off while we flew back to another country. Historisches Burgenfest in Manderscheid, Germany is the closest medieval festival to Spangdahlem AB. It takes place among the two Mandersheid Castles that we have visited. We heard about it shortly after we arrived in Nov of 2013 so it was on the top of the list to check out this August. If your wanting to go next year they’ve already updated the website with the dates for August of 2015.

Thomas Philips is a great find here in Bitburg, Germany for shopping! A friend described it to me as ‘like a Ross but a more unorganized’ LOL! I agree it is like a Ross with lower cost items and without the clothing. They have a few items like socks, leggings, but generally not much clothing.

During our recent trip to Luxembourg City, Luxembourg we decided to check out the Auchan Market and mall. We heard it is the French version of Walmart. While it did have a ton of stuff, it sure didn’t have the Walmart prices we are used to 😉

On our way to the Bock Casemates we decided to stop and see the Luxembourg American Cemetery and Memorial in Luxembourg City. A great way to fit a little American history into the day as well.
