Bea wanted to have a Vintage Travel themed party for her 11th birthday, luckily that went right along with the decor of our home so I was able to put one together for her.
I designed Travel invites, I did them on a white background so that they could be printed on any color of paper, we printed them on tan card stock to give them a map like style.

Well we made it 6 months without having our first visit to the ER, I do say that’s a record for us 😉 We went to Trier Mutterhaus, which has a really long name: Klinikum Mutterhaus der Borromäweinnen, for our first ER experience. Wow, I can hardly believe it myself, it’s finally here! Boo was in the Class of 2014 and we have attended our first child’s High School Graduation! He’s a college bound Freshman this fall! We are so proud of him and excited for his journey at college.

Eifelpark is super close to the base, about 10 minutes away, so we decided to go check it out on Memorial Day. It’s just across from Dudeldorf in the village of Gondorf. I’ve been told the American holidays are the best days to visit the German parks because they are less crowded then, that was certainly the case for us with Eifelpark. Residence du Parc is located near Disney Paris. I had read many recommendations to stay outside of Paris in the Disney area and take the train in, which we did because all the decent priced hotels & apartments were booked by the time I went to make reservations. It was an interesting experience but not sure it’s one I’d ‘recommend’ to others unless they were in a situation like ours.

This past weekend we went out to Burg Eltz after hearing all the talk and ‘hype’ that it was a must see. Even according to Rick Steves’ it is favorite castle in Europe, so of course it had to be near the top of my ‘must-see’ list. We went to Wallenborn, Germany to check out the cold water geyser and the Imkerei Mehler (honey shop & bee aviary). It’s another day trip we got to cross off the Panther Paws list as well!
Wallenborn, Germany is a short 30 minutes from the Spangdahlem area. Here you can see the cold water geyser which is 1 of only 3 in all of Europe, there are only 2 located here in Germany.

Spring is trying to make it’s arrival here in Germany! We’ve heard Summer will come much later, like around August here. I’ve for our Spring Travels I’ve made it a goal to take a day trip almost every Saturday while we are here now that we are settled, sure we’ll miss the occasional one due to things like the Bazaar, Graduation, and such but for the most part we’re doing pretty good!
